How do I know I'm ready for counselling? There is no certain answer for this! If you are inquiring about starting counselling that likely means you're looking for support with something in your life. Reaching out is often the hardest part!
-
How often should I come to counselling?People usually have a session biweekly or weekly so we can build a foundation together. Once you feel more stable or have reached some of your goals, you can decrease to a frequency that feels good for you.
-
I don't think I'll like virtual counselling, is it much different? Some folks are hesitant to do counselling virtually because they don't feel it will be as beneficial or they are tired of being on the computer. Most people find there is almost no difference and it is equally helpful, and also more convenient.
-
How much does counselling cost?Counselling sessions commonly range from $130-190 per hour. I charge a lower rate because I am committed to keeping mental health support accessible.
-
You seem a bit too hippy/outdoorsy for me, will we be a good fit? This website highlights my passion for outdoors and adventure, and, I often experience the most meaningful progress with people who don't identify with this. I'm also a Torontonian who has done many corporate jobs, and I can relate to this as well. The free 15 minute consult is a great way to explore if we are a good fit.
-
Will our sessions be covered by my insurance provider?Insurance providers usually cover sessions with either a provider who is either a Registered Social Worker or Registered Clinical Counsellor. I am registered as both, so I will likely be covered. I am also a registered FNHA provider.
